Why spend the time and effort to pay homage to Jewish twits? And on what basis are any of these people influential? In a blistering exchange Sieradski declared: and you are a crybaby who’s mad about not making an ultimately insignificant list.” ![]() Particularly bombastic was were the tweets exchanged by a pioneering blogger who helped create Protocols and ran MentalBlog (2 early, now defunct popular Jewish blogs) and aka Dan Sieradski, founding editor of Jewschool and the JTA’s Director of Digital Media. But others took serious umbrage with the list’s methodology and results. Ranked #2 on the list, I decided that modesty would prevent me from making any sort of big deal about my placement. About a month later, the JTA published a list of the 100 Most Influential Jewish Twitterers which was meant to highlight the important role played by individual and organizational twitter users in driving and influencing the course of Jewish communal discourse. A quick quasi-apology was issued and calm was urged. ![]() The letter contained words that some bloggers and twitterers found somewhat disparaging. The JTA, the news gathering arm of the US Jewish community, sent out a fund raising letter signed by its President Elisa Spungen Bildner. These hot gals are wild!
